Fishing for Mackerel is a great way to enjoy some time out on the water with family or friends and is great for kids of all ages.

We supply and teach everyone how to use the Rods & Reels which is supplied by our sponsor Shimano, you get to keep all your catch or return them back to the sea alive if you wish.

St Ives bay is by far your best chance to catch mackerel in the summer months as it is and has been a mackerel hot spot for years we also catch other species as you will see on the page. We promote sustainable fishing so keep what you can eat and return the rest. To ensure that you get the best experience of sea fishing we have top-of-the-range rods and reels and we also un-hook all of the fish so no risk of hooks in your hands.

While we are fishing, keep an eye out for the passing wildlife, and take in the view of the coast, it is stunning! Generally, it doesn’t take too long before everyone starts to catch, and when you catch mackerel it is a great feeling.

What to bring

• Warm and Wet weather clothing in the colder months and sun cream in the warmer months.
• keep an eye on the forecast and dress accordingly also good to bring some water and snacks.
• Life jackets will be provided before boarding
