What should I bring on the boat trips?
We will supply all life jackets and safety equipment. We recommend you dress for the weather conditions, including warm layers, a waterproof jacket, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and a camera to capture the action. If you’re on one of our longer duration trips, you may wish to bring a picnic.
Will I see wildlife?
Yes, we can gurantee you will see some form of wildlife. However, it does vary from trip to trip but we usually encounter seals, dolphins, seabirds, sunfish, and occasionally whales. Our skippers know all the best spots for seeing wildlife in their natural habitat!
Are the boats suitable for young children and elderly passengers?
Yes! Our stable catamaran trips are ideal for all ages, please note there is a minimum age of 4 years on our JAWS RIB adventures.

Are the boat trips dog friendly?
What happens if the weather is bad?
The safety of passengers and our crew is top priority. If the weather and sea conditions are unsafe, we may need to reschedule or cancel your trip. In these rare cases, we’ll offer an alternative date or a full refund.
Do I need to book in advance?
St Ives is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and in summer it gets quite busy around here! We highly recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season, to secure your spot. How long are the tours?
Our most popular ocean excursions last between 45mins to 1 hours and 30 minutes, the wreck and reef fishing tour is 4 hours and private charters range from 8-10hours
What if my boat trip is cancelled?
If your trip is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions you will be offered a full refund or the option to reschedule to another time or date.

We’ve been busy gearing up for what’s shaping up to be an absolutely incredible season of explosive topwater action, screaming reels and unforgettable battles with some of the hardest-fighting fish in the calendar year.

Our porbeagle season is over and ended on a high with a fine 300lb fish coming in bang on the last drift of the day.
What a tough few days with dropping a fish on the first day and waiting another 2 days for another chance.
Porgie fishing isn’t easy and if you have no patience then this isn’t for you.

The opening day of the season which is the 13th July is available for a tuna charter and a great opportunity for someone to land the first tuna of the season which is something we did last year.
It’s a great bit of fun and gets everyone excited for the season ahead.

Massive congratulations to Grant Bath with a very impressive Male Porbeagle today.
During the fight it became obvious that the fish was tail wrapped and the battle was on to get it in as soon as possible.
The fish came up tail first and we was unable to unwrap the fish with its head down so with no other choice it was then to get the fish out of the water to untangle the wire and set him free.
This was all done in quick time and team work along with experience playing a massive part.
As all of you know who fish with us our sharks never leave the water as we never board the fish unless it’s for extreme and rare occasions like this.
The end resulted in the fish swimming off very well and strong to fight another day.
