What an absolutely INCREDIBLE couple of days out on the water! 🔥🔥🔥🦈
Not one… not two… but THREE porbeagles landed over two days — with the biggest pushing an impressive 400lb! Between them, these three fish totaled close to a staggering 900lb.
The porbeagle shark is widely regarded as one of if not the hardest fighting fish in UK waters, and these battles did not disappoint. Pure power, speed, and endurance from start to finish.
All fish were taken on our top-quality Shimano and Aftco gear, which performed flawlessly when it mattered most.
A massive congratulations to our two very lucky anglers Jack Crawford and Jacob Scott who got to experience something truly special — the kind of fishing that stays with you forever.
Moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.
Unfortunately the weather has stopped play already but we will take the positives and to have a fish of 400lb under our belt already and only day 2 on the Sharks is fishing at its best 🏆
What a start and three years in the making for Jack and his word was it was worth the wait and the reward this morning was a fine specimen of a comfortable 300lb Porbeagle.
The weather might be damp but spirits are certainly not and another trip these guys will remember for a long time.
Using some of the techniques learnt in the Tuna & Thresher fishery is having a positive impact on the porgi fishing with lower fight times and recovery of the fish post release.
What an incredible start to our season 👌 Day 1 bait in for 2 minutes and a stunning 200lb Porbeagle boat side for Jacob.
Hopefully if the weather holds out we will get some more days in but it’s been a long and difficult wait to get back out but boy it feels great to finally be back out amongst the big fish.
Today we sadly lost a great personal friend of the family and a Man who was instrumental in getting Bluefin charters off the ground in our first years of business when the ticket touts filled our seats on the boats the traditional way in st ives.
Some of you will remember the scot’s man selling charm and his massive smile whilst always having a laugh and never taking life to seriously.
