BLUEFIN TUNA FISHING

If you have got this far it sounds like you have done your homework already.

We are fully licensed by the UK government to catch and release Bluefin Tuna.

Our Bluefin Tuna fishery here in Cornwall is by far the best in UK and definitely the right location for your best chance of catching that special fish of a lifetime.

Currently, to date, we have landed well over 250 giant Bluefin Tuna with almost all of them being tagged and released for scientific research.

So what’s our biggest and best catch.

In 2021 our biggest was 113 inches calculations put it at around 900-1000lb that was the largest Bluefin Tuna caught for science that year and I believe the record still stands.

This year also seen us break another UK record of catching and tagging 13 Bluefin Tuna in one day something that was never thought possible and all witnessed by an onboard CEFAS observer which was a requirement of our license at the time.

BLUEFIN TUNA FISHING CHARTERS AVAILABLE

8 hour £1,000
10 hour £1,150
12 hour £1,300

Please note on booking which duration you would like.

2022 seen us catch another Giant Bluefin Tuna of 112 inches which again was the biggest fish caught for science that year.

This year was also the most we caught in one season which totalled 174 fish which made our catch stats 2.7 fish per day so pretty impressive stuff.

Our catch records show you have definitely come to the right place to book a charter trip.

So for some booking information.

💪💪💪 Mission accomplished today with our solo angler Alan experiencing the spreader bars a few days back this time the preferred method was live bait or one on the popping gear.

We set off to find the ghost mackerel and managed to find enough for the live bait tank and headed out to where we was the day before and seen some incredible washing machines with one in the distance whilst we was hooked up being the biggest we have seen for years must of been a quarter of mile wide.🤦‍♂️

Deployed the baits and was marking plenty of fish on a couple of drifts but they wasn’t interested as obviously mackerel was off the menu today so we decided for plan B as the fish we was seeing around us was perfect for a go on the top water gear 100- 150lb 👌 so we switched set ups and the chase was on.

First cast fish on 🙌 then pulled the hook minutes later 😢 then another take and no hook up so got to be third time lucky and lucky it was 🙌 FISH ON 🔥 and what a fantastic fish it was a solid 300lb all be it not the intended target size.

Plenty of water was drank and pored over some hot heads at the end and it really was a team effort.

Fantastic achievement and of course insuring the fish had a good recovery time she went off strong and healthy.

Fridays post was all about the first Mounts Bay inshore Monster Tuna at a whopping 100 inches plus and puts the fish anywhere between 600lb -700lb or more depending on what conversion chart you choose to read.
With experience in learning weights from commercial landings i estimated the fish to be 650lb so also a split down the middle regarding conversion charts so a fair estimate to chris the angler.

So the days post was stolen by the big one but we did go on to have an explosive day 🔥🔥🔥 with the second fish being over 90 inches and another real solid fat fish.

We went on to have double hook ups dropped fish and more tuna through the day with all the lads getting in on the action and landing themselves there first bluefin tunas.

What a great group of lads and we even managed to open the eyes of a very experienced Aussie angler who could not believe his eyes with what the UK has to offer.

We really are blessed to have the opportunity of this fishery and need to keep a firm focus on protecting it and keep the high standards of fish welfare that took years of work to establish and lead to what we have today.

Cheers boys see you next year 👌

🔥🔥🔥Our first true giant of the season
Absolutely a beast of a fish at over the holy grail of 100 inches and you don’t get many in the whole season.

Congratulations goes to angler Chris Bright and a big shout out to chippy on bite adventures for giving us the heads up on some birds working close inshore.

Wow what a special morning 👌
