Winners 2024
BLUEFIN TUNA FISHING
If you have got this far it sounds like you have done your homework already.
We are fully licensed by the UK government to catch and release Bluefin Tuna.
Our Bluefin Tuna fishery here in Cornwall is by far the best in UK and definitely the right location for your best chance of catching that special fish of a lifetime.
Currently, to date, we have landed well over 250 giant Bluefin Tuna with almost all of them being tagged and released for scientific research.
So what’s our biggest and best catch.
In 2021 our biggest was 113 inches calculations put it at around 900-1000lb that was the largest Bluefin Tuna caught for science that year and I believe the record still stands.
This year also seen us break another UK record of catching and tagging 13 Bluefin Tuna in one day something that was never thought possible and all witnessed by an onboard CEFAS observer which was a requirement of our license at the time.

🔥🔥🔥GREAT NEWS🔥🔥🔥
So pleased to have just been selected to be a ambassador by one of Americas best and well known Big Game tackle companies and to be part of their professional Aftco Pro program team which involves a big part of fishing conservation and promoting the sport in a positive manor.
It really is so positive to see that all the hard work and dedication to the sport is being seen and recognised all the way across the pond in the USA and we are really looking forward to now working with Aftco in promoting their quality products and their commitment to conservation.
What does this mean to you our anglers.
Well of course this comes with benefits of full access to their best and new ranges of big game equipment which will then be added to our Shimano gear which also this year is all being upgraded to the latest models of SW rods and reels including the new 2026 Stella 25000s and the new Talica 50s.
If your booked on a Bluefin Tuna trip
this year then your in for a real treat as our gear really is now the best available on the market and will make your experience in big game fishing so much more enjoyable.
Massive thanks to Dave Lewis for all the help and support as always 👌

🔥🔥🔥 GREAT NEWS 🔥🔥🔥
Some of you may have noticed that over the past couple of Porbeagle seasons we have been much quieter about our catch reports etc.
In fact we was much quieter about all our shark fishing trips but especially the Porbeagle trips and the reason being was that the targeting of the Porbeagle shark was suggested to be banned completely.
When you think that most of our Blue Sharking trips also result in catching Porbeagles it seemed another pointless proposal and the fact also that the Porbeagle shark has made a massive return since the old days when they were commercially targeted for food or killed just to be weighed on the quay side for a trophy shot or a actual trophy from a club.
Our understanding of sharks and the handling practices in recreational shark fishing are the best they have ever been and the sharking community now work closer together than ever before with scientists and other shark Data experts which includes tagging and even DNA collecting.
This is a great result for Shark fishing as a whole and we can’t thank the likes of the angling trust and the Pat Smith data base enough.
It’s does seem that some believe that banning a certain species of fish is the answer and solves everything but the fact is is that all it does is once again highlight the miss management of the species in our waters.
Fish stocks need to be managed not controlled with a ON / OFF switch as it’s ruining the fishing industry both commercially and recreationally.
Anyway we can now finally move on and with this great news we are now taking bookings for mighty Porbeagle charters starting April 1st - May 15th
cost is £650 8 hour - £800 10 hour
Departure is St ives or Hayle depending on tides and all the top of the range shimano gear and bait is included in the price.
If you have done the Tuna and fancy a proper battle then this is for you 😉 as we only use the best fixed spool set ups. ... See MoreSee Less

Not Perfect, Not the Worst: CEO Reflections on the Bass and Pollack Deal

Over the past week, there has been a fair bit of noise online about the recent bass and pollack outcome, which saw an agreement between the UK and EU to implement an uplift in the recreational bass ba...Another busy week and Yellowfin is now looking fresh and as good has she’s ever been both now inside and out.
Some nice stainless bits being fabricated and to be fitted for that extra finished detail.
Bluefin stripped back and prepared for something special which will see her going from looking tiered to like new again which unfortunately does include the mammoth task of taking the anti foul right off and back to gel ready to be copper coated.

Lots of talk about the recent announcement of the 3 catch limit coming in this June for the Pollock and many of us didn’t see it coming including ourselves.
We have been in the past few seasons encouraging anglers to just take for the plate and not to try and fill up the whole streets freezers which was once common practice.
It is going to be difficult and some anglers will not like it but unfortunately we all have to contribute to looking after our fish stocks even though it’s very evident recreational angling is not at fault here.
Unfortunately it’s the world we live in and we have to make the best of it.
We will continue to do what we have been doing in the past 2-3 seasons by fishing the inshore shallow reefs where we can release what fish we need to and will continue with the great mixed species we have available to us.
I think it’s fair to say that fishing has evolved from the days of massive hauls out on the wrecks and we now enjoy the sport of fishing and appreciating a day out on the water with good banter and good company whilst releasing what fish we can to make for a better future.
We certainly will not let this dampen our trips and we hope you all understand that the days of black bags of fillets are over for the foreseeable future.
On the up side we can now keep 3 BASS 👌😁 ... See MoreSee Less
